Located next to the Root River and the Root River Bike Trail is the Cushon's Peak Campground. There are modern, heated, clean, bathrooms and showers. Each campsite has a camp fire ring and picnic table. In addition to the Root River Bike trail, there are over 5 miles of hiking trails on the campground site. Trailside Campground is ideally-located on the Root River State Trail, just west of Rushford. Opened in 2012, the site boasts large, grassy sites with full hookups and 50 amp power. Amenities include a large picnic shelter with bathroom/shower, volleyball, playground, community garden, and bean bag toss games. This property is family owned and operated by the Naber family, who also own Eagle Cliff Campground in Lanesboro. Administration of Trailside Campground is handled through Eagle Cliff; please call for more information.
